Tipp Town Munster Development 1 Gala: 30th Sept 2018

Report from Coach Uta Fietch:

Our first gala of the year was very successful with 11 swimmers taking part with 32 entries.

there were 27 personnel bests. we picked up
7 gold  5 silver  3 bronze and a lot in the top 10.
New level 2 swimmers Ellen Blackwell / Conor Kirby and Sarah Gleeson

Single level 2 times;   Maud Dooley McInerney / Blake Byrne

Well done to all and thanks to Uta who supported the swimmers for the day.

Please Note Change of Date: This will now be held on Sunday 30th September.

Warm up is at 9.00am with Gala to commence at 10.00am.

To Register your child – Go to itsplainsailing on our webpage – Under Online Entry and Payment. You must register today the 14th before 10.30pm. Option 1: 100 free and 100 IM and 1 *50 of choice. Option 2: 100 Free or 100 IM and 3 * 50 of choice.

Munster / Connacht Long Course Championship

147 Christine Ryan delighted to pick up GOLD @ Munster championship in the 200m freestyle with a time of 216.39mins taking 4 secs off her time. Brendan Quinn swam in the 50m freestyle and PB by 1 sec. Julia also performed and managed to take off 1 and 2 seconds in her 100 Fly and 200 IM.

Club Fun Away Day May 19th

Hi everyone, to confirm, based on replies received, that we will go ahead with our Club Fun Away Day to surf in Lahinch on Saturday May 19th. Again thanks to Coach Mike for help in organising this.

Cost is €20 per participant which includes bus, surfing gear and lesson and BBQ (weather permitting). Club finance committee has provided funds to allow cost charged to be kept this low.

Obviously, places on the bus are limited and will be on a first come basis. You should book, as always, on

Swimmers of the Month

Congrats to Odhran O Driscoll (Senior squad) and Naomi Larke (Junior squad) who were chosen by the coaches this month for excelling at training & competitions.

Also congrats to Tom Kirby and Laura Quin who have moved up in squads and are doing really well.


Tipperary Tigersharks Gala – 22nd April

198b 7 Swimmers participated in this gala. There was a total of 23 entries with 20 personnel bests times.  Megan came home with 4 medals achieving silver in 50 BC and 50 BS,  Bronze in 100IM and 50 FC. Laura Q came second in the 50 BC and 3rd in the 100IM. Sarah picked up silver in the 50 FC and bronze in the 100IM and 50FC and has now moved up to Level 2 as did Laura Quinn.  Robert snatched the bronze in his 50 BS with level 2 times. Laura P  smashed her times in the 100IM and 50 BS (both level 2 times). Well done to all.

Irish Open Swimming Championship April

Super achievement by Christine Ryan who qualified for the Irish Open Championships at the National Aquatic centre – she qualified out of her heat and into the final of the U17 200m backstroke and improved on her time.    Proud Mum and Coach by her side.
