Nenagh Neptune Fundraiser Gala

Nenagh Neptune Fundraising Gala 250 swimmers from 8 Munster clubs travelled to Nenagh to take part in our fundraising level 1 gala. A huge effort made by the 48 Nenagh Neptune swimmers meant we achieved great success. We won 31 medals. Of those 16 were gold – Rachel Quigley smashed all 5 swims coming home with 5 golds. Ronan Fitzpatrick was very imporessive with 3 golds. Julius Zillonis and Mateusz Milaszewicz had prepared for this gala and achieved 2 gold medals each. Anna Gleeson, her first official gala, had 6 strong swims and earned 4 silver medals for her efforts. Lauren Duggan and Mateusz Milaszewicz won 2 silver medals each. After a successful day, 7 swimmers have achieved all their level 2 times and now look to their Divisional Qualifying times. Well done to Ronan Fitzpatrick, Sarah Gleeson, Rachel Quigley, Laura Purowska, Aiveen O Brien and Aoibhe McGrath. The Coaches (Uta) best swims of the day: Oisin O’Driscoll (Backstroke). The committee would like to thank everyone for making the event run smoothly, including the IT specialists, food makers and bakers, timekeepers, stewarts, call judges and officials and all the other jobs parents got involved in the running of this event. Thanks to Tom Mackey and his pool staff for supporting the club on these hectic days with up 250 young swimmers taking over the facilities. 

Dave McCullough International 2020 2 of our swimmers Chrsitine Ryan and Ksenya Nita travelled to Bangor to compete with the best Irish and UK swimmers. Christine qualified to compete in the 100 back, 1500 free & 400 free. Ksenya qualified in the 1500 free & 200 fly. Christine finished her 3 races with a very consistent performance over her 3 races. Ksenya also swam her 1500free and 200fly with new personnel best times. Both girls have qualified for the Irish Open
